Right in the heart of vibrant Tulum, Mexico, there’s a hidden architecture dream and a contemporary jungle oasis- Fósil. Standing out from classic bohemian-inspired Tulum venues, Fósil is space that sparkles creativity and creates an abundance of backdrops . Its unique arch constructions, lime wash walls and perfectly modern textures bathing in the palm tree shadows make Fósil one of Tulum’s hottest photography locations.
When creating the idea of an inspirational luxury elopement photoshoot, Fósil’s aesthetics and design seemed like a perfect match. I envisioned luxury wedding gowns, raw details, and a full love story captured within these arched, lime washed walls. I wanted to keep the decor to minimum, allowing the unique architecture play the main role.
Thinking of Tulum wedding or elopement, you would probably imagine a beach ceremony or a table setup arranged in a boutique hotel by the coastline. While planning the photoshoot, I wanted to showcase the beauty of local architecture nestled deeper it Tulum’s bustling centre. The aesthetics were to be about muted tonal palettes and clean lines.
With these in mind, my goal was to create fresh ideas for a modern elopement that is centred around modern aesthetics, architecture and design.
Searching for alternatives for a classic bohemian look, Vera Wang’s Amandine Gown turned out perfect along with a classic veil from Sash + Veil. As for the second look, Ana wore New White Bridal which was kindly supplied by The White Closet. The off-white and ecru tonnes of both simplistic gowns added a trendy spin on a classic bridal look and blended perfectly with Tulum’s warm hues.
Bureau Design is a master mind behind the stationery. Her carefully selected textures allowed me to create a collection of imagery using a light and shadow play. In addition, using the concrete and stone textures as a backdrop added the character and definition to the detailed captures.
